I've made this card for the challenge over on Funky Fairy this week. The theme is 'Buttons and Beads'. Papers are from the Baby Bee range from Crate Paper, and the image is a Tilda stamp from Magnolia. Rub on letters are from Doodlebug.

Mega catch up time for me... where do all the days go??

This first card is for the 'Wildlife' challenge over on Stamp Something. The image is from Penny Black. Not sure what the papers are... I've already used the bits with the name on, so can't identify these scraps.

This next card was made using one of the papers in the 'It's a Spring Thing' digital kit by Kay Miller, and fits in with the challenge over on Scrummy Stash Cafe . This week the theme is 'layers' I've printed one of the background papers and then layered some of the flowers. Then added doodled dots and bling rhinestones... yummmm. The stamped sentiment is from Daisy Bucket.

'Die cuts' are this weeks challenge over on Papertake. I've used my circle nestabilities to create the scallop circle and then just sat the coloured Tilda image on it. Paper is from K&Co, bought ages ago and just found it! The patterned corner punch was bought in November and only just started to used it.

The challenge over on My time to craft this week is 'Brads and Eyelets'. I don't have that many eyelets but brads are a totally different thing! I've attached 3 brads in the centre of the pale blue flowers. Papers are from the 'Squadron' range from Kaiser Crafts.

Well, I've made a christmas card. Cute Card Thursday has 'Christmas' as their theme this week. I did make this card a while ago, but never uploaded it. Papers... not totally sure.. Image is from Pink Petticoat, Christmas sentiment stamp is from Stamps Away.

I've been so busy lately. Still able to do the odd card or too but not to sit and update... sorry. Here are a few of the cards I've been able to do over this long holiday weekend.

This gorgeous blue and brown tilda is for the new challenge over on Tilda and Co. It's 'tearing' and I'm all for that! The paper I've used is my new Dream Street - 'Something Blue'. Sentiment is a Pebbles rub on.

I've had this Penny Black image for a while and wondered what card it would suit. Saw the challenge over on Theme Thursday - 'Transportation' and thought it would qualify (even if only verrrry loosely)!
Coloured lightly with watercolour pencils.

The challenge over on Scrummy Stash Cafe is 'Weddings'. I've used the hearts embossing folder in my cuttlebug and the image is a clear woodware stamp.

I visited a local craft shop and bought some new fabby papers and ribbons. As with all new stash I wanted to use it right away, so the following cards have all been done using the same supplies. Papers are by 'The Paper Company Studio' and the 3 that tempted me were, 'Aubergine Lattice, Rose Impression and Chateau Stripe'.

This card is for the challenge over on Mojo Monday. Image is from Pink Petticoat, Jewels are from Kaiser.

The 2nd card another sketch challenge over on Papertake. This image was very kindly sent to me by a friend.. it's a Hanglar & Stanglar, just gorgeous.

UK Scrappers cybercrop

There has been a cybercrop over on UKScrappers this weekend. I'm not one for layouts at the moment so I've only completed 1 class. This was designed by Marlene and was entitled 'The devil wears Prada'. I've used some of my new Pink Petticoat images. I've coloured the background paper to make it fit with the red and black theme. The ribbon, flower and buckle are far too old for me to remember where or when I got them.

Girly... but blue

The challenge over on Tilda & Co this week is to create something with a feminine theme... but using the colour blue. So after a lot of creative mess... I came up with this card. In the process of wondering what to do I discovered a corner punch I bought back in November and had never used! (I have too much stuff)! The girl and the tulip background are both Magnolia, flowers are from a punch.

What a great challenge this week from the team at Caardvarks - black and white plus one other colour.

I chose bright, girly pink as my other colour. The image and background paper are from Pink Petticoat I just love the glamourous undies in the 'Cheekies' set! The undies are coated with pale pink glitter glue so they really sparkle! Diamantes by Kaiser Craft, huge flower from my stash and the happy birthday greeting is a rubon by Pebbles Inc.

The theme of this weeks challenge on the Cute Card Thursday blog is 'It's a man's world' - we would like to see your cards made for the men/boys in your life''.

The cute dinosaur is from a set by Woodware called 'Dino Friends'. The background paper is by K&Co from the Small Wonders Boy range. I stamped some extra balloons which are mounted on foam pads. The strings are doodled lines and I have used rubons for the Happy Birthday greeting. The green ribbon brads are from Poppicrafts.

I used a cute little bird stamp by Imaginisce, coloured with watercolour pencils then added a doodle border with a black pen. The patterned paper mat is also by Imaginisce, I used a wavy blade on my paper trimmer to edge the plain pink cardstock.

I found a new challenge blog to play on at Funky Fairys :) This weeks challenge is to make a card for boys or men.

I've used the Sk8ter Boy stamp by Sugar Nellie, coloured with watercolour pencils. The papers are from the 'Extreme Boy' range by Junkitz. I added some star brads to match the stars on the skateboard and the greeting is a rubon by Pebbles Inc.

Daring Cardmakers - shrink to fit

No, it's not another shrink plastic challenge.. it's the theme of this weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers. The challenge is to cover no more than a 5 x 5 cm area on a regular sized card with your design. A small sentiment is allowed, but the card should have lots of white space.

Although this card is simple, it was so hard just to keep to the 5 x 5 cm rule! I stamped a Magnolia baby carriage, added a little colour and cut it out. It's mounted on a blue scalloped square mat which measures exactly 5 x 5 cms! The small sentiment stamp is by Daisy Bucket.

Shrink Plastic

The theme for this weeks challenge on Rainbow Lady's challenge blog is to use shrink plastic. I'd never used any on cards before so I had to put my thinking cap on for this one!

I used a Versafine inkpad to stamp the Magnolia tree onto the shrink plastic. It's a big stamp so I wasn't sure how much it would shrink down to or how well the details would show! I coloured the image with pencils and added a doodle border with a black permanent pen. The colours really intensified when I shrank the image and I was pleased that you can still see the details on the bark and leaves. I kept the card design really simple, just a scoreline on the front panel to open the card and two holes punched for the ribbon tie. The sentiment is a rubon by pebbles Inc.

Black and Orange!!!

These are yummy colours... not ones I would choose to use together on a card but the challenge over on Theme Thursday is to use just these two colours.

I created the orange background by inking a culltebug embossing folder and then putting it through the machine in the usual way. The ink was a Tangerine chalk pad. The flowers were punched with my fabby new woodware punch, I got mine from Crafts U Love. Then just some orange and black stickles in the flower centres.

I love the Tilda's cat stamp, so cute! I watercoloured Tilda and her cat before cutting them out and mounting them onto the card on foam pads. The sentiment stamps are from a See-D's set and I added some buttons tied through with ribbon and some Prima leaves.

Arty Girlz - chocolate

The challenge on the Arty Girlz blog this week is

'Make something that includes chocolate! Chocolate coloured paper, ribbons, flowers, chocolate smelling embossing powder. A chocolate cake perhaps! The only other condition is that it HAS to include only one other colour (oh ok I'll let you have white too then lol)'

I chose aqua blue to go with the chocolate coloured cardstock. The image is a Magnolia stamp, coloured with Supracolour Soft watercolour pencils. The sentiment is created from brown alphabet rubons, the ribbon, flowers and brad are from my stash. The patterned paper is from the K&Co Bailey mat pad.

If you are a regular visitor, you've probably gathered that my Stickles glitter glue is never far away... so when I saw this weeks 'Sparkle' challenge on the My Time to Craft blog, I thought it was just perfect!

The background papers are from the Belle range, by Amy Butler for K & Co. The image is from Pink Petticoat and the bath bubbles are smothered in sparkly Stickles!! I also added some diamante sparkle to the flower centres. I love this girly card :)

I found a super card sketch challenge while I was surfing around (as you do!) The sketches on My Paper World are lovely and clear and there are loads of example cards to inspire you.

As I am trying to make a few Christmas cards each month, I thought I'd use the sketch for this card. This was a super sketch to work with, I'll definitely be using it again!

A ripping challenge!

The challenge over on ISMAKI this week is another great sketch... with the added option of texture... I thought about this one for a while, then all of a sudden this card just happened.
The paper I used was one of my new Imaginisce "go for Baroque" (blue blooded) and for the texture part I just ripped it. I used a white Uniball Signo pen to outline a flower and the white sentiment is a rub on. Image is yet another from Pink Petticoat ( I just love them)!

I never thought I'd see the day that I'd think a worm was cute! I've had my fair share of them little things... both in the garden and in my son's trouser pockets... yuk!!

I was browsing the net yesterday and Pink Petticoat had some new graphics, Garden Bugs... and one was this gorgeous cute worm. I fell in love instantly! So this card is for the challenge over on Cute Card Thursday "all creatures great and small". Get a Bank Holiday weekend and the one thing you can be sure of here in the UK is truly awful weather. So far we have had wind, rain, hail and some snow. At the moment all seems calm, but I'm not poking my nose outside just yet!

This first card is for the challenge on Daring Cardmakers "Teen Spirit". I've recently discovered the downloadable graphics at Pink Petticoat, I'm in love!! The bath in this card is one of my favourite sets "Lola Rose Bubbly", and I thought it fitted with the brief. I've used bazzill scallop edged c/s, imaginisce paper. The greetings stamp is from woodware mixed greetings set.

Now for the challenge over on Arty Girls, "Stars", I was a bit stumped. I have a serious lack of anything starry in my stash. I've even had all my christmas bits out to see what was in there! So.... in the end I had to settle on using paper with "starbursts" on. I know it's a bit of a loose link to the theme, but it does still work. Paper is Sugar Plum by Collage Press. Image is again from Pink Petticoat "Just for ewe" set.

Cute Card Thursday challenge - new!

A new card challenge blog started today, it's called Cute Card Thursday. Cute is just my cup of tea and as the first challenge is 'New Beginnings' I thought I'd have a go at it!

I've used one of the new Little Cotton Rabbit stamps by Sugar Nellie, available from Funky Kits. The background paper is from the 'Small Wonders Girl' range by Brenda Walton (K & Co). I used the 'Swiss Dots' Cuttlebug embossing folder on the lilac card and a small piece of pink Bazzill Bling cardstock to mount the stamped image. Ribbon brads are from Poppicrafts, the flowers and greeting rubon are from my stash.

Scrummy Stash Cafe - Foamtastic!

This weeks challenge on the Scrummy Stash Cafe blog is 'Foamtastic'. I managed to unearth a piece of red foam from the depths of a box - just enough to make this card!

As the foam is red I decided to go with a black and white theme for the rest of the card. I used a Cuttlebug die to cut the foam flowers and attached them with silver spacer beads and brads. The stems are hand drawn. The photo doesn't show it to well, but the three small flower images are actually loops of black grosgrain ribbon to which I have added flower rubons. The greeting is also a rubon.

Caardvarks challenge - Transportation

The latest challenge on the Caardvarks challenge blog is Transportation, sponsored by Cornish Heritage Farms.

I've used the wedding car stamp from the 'Wedding' set of clear stamps by Woodware. The card is gatefold and I added a strip of brown card to take the stamped image. Before I assembled the card, I ran the white card through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder to add some texture. The image has been watercoloured and is mounted on foam pads.

Papertake challenge - Squares

It's been a busy week here so I haven't been able to keep up with the card challenges, but I did manage this one for the Papertake challenge. The theme is squares and here's the card I made.

For this card I used a clear stamp from funkyfairies papercrafts, I have several of their stamps and they are so nice. I watercoloured the flower petals then cut around the edges and raised the squares on foam pads. The greeting is also stamped and I finished off the card with some ombre ribbon and a bow.

DCM challenge - I am woman

This weeks challenge at Daring Cardmakers is to make a card celebrating women/girls. We were asked not to use Tildas, Nellies or Bellas this week but to use a different feminine image.

I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't be able to take part this week as I don't have any other feminine image stamps... but then I remembered these vintage slide transparencies. I used a brad to secure them to cream card so that the images showed up clearly. They are mounted onto a piece of fibrous fabric from my altering box and then onto the tag, which was stamped with a lace background stamp using pale beige ink. Sadly, the lace background doesn't show up too well in the photo.

This was a totally different style of card for me and I really enjoyed the challenge!

Tilda & Co - wishing you well

The Tilda & Co challenge this week is to make something to cheer up a sick friend or relative. I hope this card will do just that!

I've been itching to use my new Magnolia 'Rainy Edwin' stamp since he arrived last week. I mounted the coloured image on top of the blue mat with foam pads, the three tiny buttons are brads by MM (I think? - I threw the packaging away). The centre of the large silk flower is a circle of card, raised up on foam pads and I used a Minimarks rubon in the centre of the large white brad.

Scrummy Stash Cafe - numbers

This weeks challenge at the Scrummy Stash Cafe is to use numbers. I thought I may as well get organised and make this birthday card, even though it's not needed till April!

I used the Sporty Edwin stamp by Magnolia, but cut off the studs on his football boots. Instead of holding a ball, Edwin is now holding a cupcake! The chipboard numbers are painted with pearlescent paint and grunged up with brown paint. The sentiment is a Pebble Inc. rub on from Crafts U Love. I bought several packs of these with different greetings and colours - they are fantastic!

Sweet Sugar - dress up your Nellies!

The challenge at Sweet Sugar had me stumped for a while, but here's the card I came up with.

I was lucky enough to win this lovely Luca stamp on the Sugar Nellie blog, isn't he a cutie! He is totally paper pieced from textured and patterned papers and the buttons on his waistcoat are teeny weeny jewel peeloffs. Luca is definitely ready to party! All the papers used are by K & Co.

Caardvarks - friendship

Throughout February, Caardvarks have been holding a 'Lovefest'. This week's challenge is to make a friendship card.

I decided to make a kick stand card for this challenge. I stamped the fence panels and cut them out after colouring, then added some tiny flowers with Stickles centres for a bit of glitz. The larger flowers are attached with small brads and the sentiment is computer generated and printed onto cardstock. it looks very pretty standing open!

I know it seems strange to be making Christmas cards this early in the year, but I'm trying to avoid the last minute scramble to get them all finished in time. I'm aiming to make a few each month, that way I should have a fair amount by the time December rolls around. I've used this weeks sketch from ISMAKI for this one, it's a really nice sketch and I'm sure I'll be using it lots for other cards.

Arty Girlz challenge #22 - Green

The challenge this week at Arty Girlz is to use the colour green.

I've used one of my new Lola stamps by Sugar Nellie for this card. She has been coloured with Caran D'Ache Supracolour pencils and mounted onto pale pink card, then attached with foam pads. The papers are by K&Co from the Brenda Walton 'Small Wonders Girl' range, I love this fresh green check pattern. The Prima flowers have had a light dab of Stickles to give them a bit of shimmer.

Easter card

This weeks challenge on the Papertake blog reminded me that I needed to make a start on my Easter cards!

The rooster and picket fence stamps are by Magnolia, I stamped and coloured these with watercolour pencils before cutting them out and attaching them to the base card. For the grass, I used a piece of green cardstock cut with the wavy blade on my trimmer then added the ribbon and a few Prima flowers. The sentiments were printed on my pc directly onto the cardstock. This was a fun card to make!

Back again.. Had a really busy and productive day yesterday. Managed to get in a full day crafting and here are the cards I was able to complete..

First one.. the shapes challenge over on Scrummy Stash Cafe . I chose circles as my shape as I really wanted to use some new circular stamps and nestabilities.

Over on Artygirlz the challenge is stamping. I'm not the world's best stamper... I get ink everywhere, and on anything lying around. Am really pleased I was able to get the ink just where it was supposed to go! Stamp is by Clevercut, flowers are from Crafts U Love, papers from K&Co.

I'm off now to tidy up... a bit and to see what else I can make before tomorrow comes. :)

It's much to early to start!

This is just not normal... Up at this hour in a Sunday!! Ready to start again!! I should still be lounging in bed having a lie in, taking it really easy.... but no. Soon as one eye opens my brain kicks in and plants a card idea in my head. Can I get back to sleep after that???? Not a chance... so here I am... finishing off blogging what I should have uploaded yesterday but didn't because my brain and I had yet another idea.

I hope this card is in time for the challenge over on Tilda & Co . The challenge was to make a Mother's day card whilst using something recycled. The coloured background was first put through a cuttlebug embossing folder and then I attacked it with my trusty supracolour II pencils, to make it a bit more interesting. For the 'Recycled' part I used some ribbon cut of a tshirt (from the annoying hangy bits they put in the shoulders)! and a button from something, not sure what.

This gorgeous anniversary card was completed for the challenge over on Caardvarks . My brain and I had a bright idea whilst completing this card. I've seen somewhere, on some other cards, part of the stamped image has been done on patterned paper and the carefully stuck on... so I had a go. I really like the result too. Paper is from K& co.

Now... I'm off to finish my first morning cuppa and wake up a bit more, I'll be back later with some more cards I finished yesterday. Have a good morning :)

Challenges are fun!!

What a week I've had! Since discovering the card challenge sites I just can't stop! Every night after work I no longer just sit and veg out infront of the TV, now I'm off upstairs cutting and colouring. It's so much fun.

The first card you will see is for the challenge over on ISMAKI . I normally can't keep to sketches, so I tried really hard to keep to the plan! I'm pleased with the result. The stamped image is from Magnolia (love them to bits)! Ribbon, flowers, button and some stickles to give it some sparkle!

There is a challenge over on the Sweet Sugar blog to use stars and stripes. This had me thinking... for quite some time. Stars is one of the things I haven't used a great deal of in the past so I really had to think outside the box to complete this challenge. My inspiration came from some free papers in a card magazine Simply cards and Papercraft. Stars - well star flowers and star flower papers, from the magazine and the stripes, well strips of cardstock!! The image is a Sugar Nellie stamp (another of my faves)!

Well thanks for looking I'm off now to look at what else I can do... have fun!! I know I will :)

Thinking outside the box...

The new challenge went up today at Papertake 'Simply Stripes' - use stripes on your project. I thought I'd do something a little different than reaching for the striped paper, so for this card I used a striped house and some striped ribbon!

It's good to think outside the box now and then, it didn't hurt too much :)

It's been a busy week workwise, but the arrival of new stamps had me itching to get back home and start inking and stamping! I'm finding that the challenges give me a good kickstart instead of just staring at papers and wondering what to do :)

This week's challenge at Papertake was to use floral embellishments. I have several huuuge flowers so I've used one of them on this thankyou card. The big green button has 2008 embossed on it and it's held in place with two shades of narrow purple grosgrain ribbon.

This is one of the new Magnolia stamps I received this week - I just couldn't wait to get her stamped and coloured in! The card fits this weeks 'Love' theme at the Scrummy Stash Cafe and also the current Tilda & Co theme of 'Romance' and use of a buckle.

Here's another of my new stamps, isn't she gorgeous! This one is from the new 'Lola and Simon' range by Sugar Nellie. I've been wanting to try a kick stand card for a while and I'm really pleased with how it turned out! This card was made for the February cardmaking challenge over at UKScrappers - create a Valentine's card in non-Valentine colours.

Well, I've had fun today. This first card fits 4 current challenges. Papertake - Hearts Desire, Arty girlz - pockets, Daring Cardmakers - Red and White and UKScrappers February challenge of a non valentine card in valentine colours.

I had the idea for the pocket from a magazine I bought the other day... Papers are DCWV christmas stack, stamps are studio G and Magnolia.

Another card for a UK Scrappers challenge, this time for the use your stash K & Co. Papers are from a Brenda Walton mat stack, cuttlebug strip and see d stamp along with a magnolia.

Weekend playtime!

Weekends are usually the only time I get to have a play and do some crafting! I've had fun so far, not sure how much more I'll get done but here's what I've done up to now......

This card was for the Scrummy stash cafe challenge to use ribbon. Stamp is Magnolia and the swing is thin brown ribbon. Image is coloured with Supracolour pencils. Paper is from a yummy new stack by Brenda Pinnick.

I've made this card for a friend who is due to have her second baby soon, as she already knows it's a boy I've been able to make the card in advance. I'd just finished this card and found it not only fitted in with the Artygirlz challenge but also with the baby theme at Tilda and Co.
Again the image was colourd with supracolour pencils, papers are K&Co small wonders Girl and a mystery one behind. Wording by Pink Petticoat.
